From the Ordinary
Early Trinitytide 2025

At Pentecost this year, as the Church celebrated her own birth, we were given the grace of a new beginning: the foundation of our Ordinariate. In the weeks since, three priests have been received into our fellowship. This quiet but remarkable beginning feels like tender seed sown in fertile soil—a reminder that this work is never our own, but always a participation in the life of Christ and the Church.

Though this event has been joyful for us, we cannot look away from the sorrow and strain in our own nation. The burdens of division, violence, and uncertainty weigh heavily upon us all. As a society of clergy rooted in the United States, we are bound to pray for this land, to mourn with its sorrows, and to bear witness to the hope of the Gospel within it.

This season of Trinitytide calls us to maturity in communion and mission. Saint Augustine once said to his people: “We are your shepherds; with you we are Christians. For you we labor; with you we receive what we labor for.” In these words, we find the pattern of our own vocation: a priestly fellowship not for itself, but for the sake of the wider Church and the world.

We invite your prayers and interest as we mature together in this journey. Though early in our journey, our vision is catholic, and we trust the Triune God to plant seed, water it, and bring forth fruit. May the Spirit of Pentecost continue to strengthen us all in faith, hope, and love during these days of Trinitytide.
